Our approach
VELD was founded on a single conviction: that most design problems are communication problems in disguise. Clients don't usually need more — more features, more pages, more visual noise.
They need less, chosen more carefully. We are a small studio by design. Eight people, no junior work farmed out, no pitches for projects we don't intend to think seriously about. Every project is led by a senior designer from brief to delivery. That is not a selling point — it is the only way we know how to work.
Our clients tend to come from referrals, and they tend to stay. We think that is the most honest measure of whether the work is any good.
Tobias Meer
Design Director, Digital
Tobias joined VELD in 2020 from a UX lead role at a fintech in Amsterdam. He leads all digital experience projects and has an unnerving ability to spot a misaligned pixel from across a room. He also makes the best coffee in the studio, which matters more than it sounds.
Lena Voss
Founder & Creative Director
Lena founded VELD after seven years at Pentagram London and two at a startup in Berlin that taught her everything she didn't want to do. She leads brand identity projects and oversees the creative direction of the studio. She reads too much and cycles too fast.
Sofie Andersen
Senior Designer
Sofie trained as a graphic designer in Copenhagen and worked in editorial design before moving into brand. She has a particular interest in type and the uncomfortable grey area between design and writing. She is usually the last one to leave.
Marcus Hale
Design Engineer
Marcus is the reason the things we design actually work the way they look in Figma. He builds in Framer, React, and whatever else the project requires. He has opinions about animation timing that he will share whether you ask or not.
